sadie_cocopufftoday is a better mental health day.
math lecture (google: the $25 billion eigenvector) was cool and i actually understood it, more or less. i also incidentally learned that people have used linear algebra to figure out that a sabertooth tiger's jaws were about a third as strong as a modern lion's, and that therefore the sabertooth probably knocked its prey to the ground and then slashed it with its teeth, whereas a lion strangles its prey with its jaws. isn't math cool? (no, i don't actually remember how they figured this out, sorry. the lecturer mentioned it in passing.)
seems like lots of people wander around campus barefoot. it's getting too cold for that. (yeah, ok, it's 70 degrees. the clouds make it *feel* colder than that.)
off to do more sociology reading.
