Aug. 27th, 2007 08:38 pmhighlights of my day:
> went shopping for back to school clothes at rei. realized in the checkout line that i am going to look like every other middkid now. oh well, individuality be damned, i like my new clothes. also, what is up with stupid pants. why can't they fit me? i have exactly two pairs of pants that aren't jeans and they are likely to be the only ones. meh. who cares, i'm in college, i can wear jeans every day if i want.
> stopped in whole foods for "lunch" which turned into my mom and i impulsively buying a loaf of bread, five tubes of toothpaste (one for everyone in the family, so not as random as it seems), a tub of peanut butter cookies, and a truly amazing lemon-pound-cake-and-berries-and-cream parfait. oh, and lunch. that place must make so much money.
> got blood drawn. anybody else taken valium? tell me, is it supposed to do something? it did NOT make me refrain from completely freaking out and it did NOT stop me from almost fainting. i protest.
> threadless back to school sale! $10 shirts! i restrained myself and only bought one for me (http://www.threadless.com/product/961/Wishless), and some for siblings for christmas/birthday. because i am a good person. (psst - if you are inclined to buy shirts, use this url: http://www.threadless.com?streetteam=ofm16. then i get store credit and you get shirts and everybody is happy!)
in other news...4 days, 12 hours, 47 minutes till i depart texas for michigan. happy/sad/ambivalent. soooo ready to be back but i will miss my family!

I have slightly less self-control than you. But only slightly.

My first two threadless shirts! I've always meant to before now but was waiting for a sale. And you inspired me. Thank you for sharing this lovely experience with me, Hal. ;-)

p.s. I love the dragon one.
