i am exhausted and cranky and frustrated, for no good reason. i will stop soon, so it hardly seems worth the trouble to write out a rant, but i have nothing better to do because i'm too tired to read and i just watched a movie ("au revoir les enfants" - a lot more depressing than i remember) and my laptop is at the computer doctor because its speaker is being cranky. all this having to enter passwords and use webmail and not having the right bookmarks business is lame. today we cleaned out/organized the magazine archives at insite (never mind that i helped do the exact same thing three summers ago, people have a way of tearing things up even when there are big signs telling them not to). the attic is dark and hot and filthy and i have never felt so gross in my life. i HATE being dirty. fortunately by this time next year it should be renovated into nice clean office space and the archives will be shrinkwrapped and untouchable (which kind of begs the question of why we have archives) and i will never have to do this job again. and i will have my computer back in four or five days, which in the scheme of things isn't that bad, and friday i will go see ruddigore in houston with kelley etc. and the last harry potter book will come out and all will be lovely. unless the wrong people die and then i will be in a foul mood. :P but in a good way. and at some point (hopefully this week, i keep putting it off) i will go talk to sma's new headmaster and get my list of books approved and do some puttering about in the library, which is always lovely. and if i spend more time reading than working, well, it's not an actual job so nobody needs to know. :P

no crankies! :) i just read "Boomsday" --fiction, quasi-political, quick read but amusing. if you've got nothing better, i recommend it.
