sooooo...this is the point at which i try to update you on my first month at college, while not awakening my roomie and her boyfriend (who is here for the weekend) with the clicking of keys. i don't even know what to say. lists:
classes:
unity and diversity of human language (intro to linguistic typology)
art of translation (first year seminar)
french literature (literature...meh)
linear algebra (awesome prof, difficult subject)
singing groups:
chamber singers (just got back from initiation...if you want to hear about that, talk to me)
mountain ayres (madrigals, i.e. stuff i sang at sma. yay sma!)
college-community chorus (quite big, students and townsfolk, no audition required, not a cappella)
nights a week i have singing practice: 5
p.e. classes:
lindy hop (east coast swing has screwed me up so badly)
yoga (is it really relaxing when i have to rush to get there? hmmm...:P)
days a week i have no class till 3 p.m.: 2
nights a week i have nothing planned: probably a negative number
weird french movies i've seen: 2 (caché and de battre mon coeur s'est arrêté)
cute guys running around: lots
cute guys interested in me: 0
cool people on my hall: 17 (in other words all of them)
people i've met who don't drink: more than you'd think
sketch-cullough dances i've attended: 1 (is more than enough)
students sporting weird 80s fashions: too many
sporting events i've attended: 1 (women's soccer, crushed williams 8-0)
cloudless days: not enough
ridiculously beautiful days: too many to count
times i've fallen off my bike: 1
times i've checked my mailbox and haven't had mail: 1 (i love my friends and family!)
average number of times a day i talk to my mom: 2 or 3
nights i've slept outside: 2 (moo - never again!)
scars from rock climbing: one, two, many, lots
well, that should give you an idea anyway...more later!
