the internet is a wondrous thing...problem: i need bibliographic references for my french senior work translation project. solution: i know we had several such books on our reading list for my first year seminar. problem: i have long since ditched that syllabus and i have no idea how to navigate the middlebury segue website. solution: type katz fys translation into google, and lo and behold, the third result is the syllabus i was looking for. i love the information age. (the somewhat more vexing thing is: i definitely sold those books back to the bookstore after that class. meh.)

having amassed all the appropriate information to write my project proposal, i should actually be doing that now. not interested. much more interested in things like knowing what happened with small block draw, for example. EDIT: turns out i didn't actually want to know. laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

however, today is absolutely gorgeous. i am wearing my traditional "first really warm day of spring!" skirt and stripy shirt, but sadly hannah is not on the appropriate continent to photograph me sprawled amongst the dandelions. :P it's the amusing sort of weather in which attire ranges from small skirts and flipflops to boots, coats and scarves, easily permitting one to distinguish those who prefer to let the sun shine on their (extremely pale) skin at the expense of being a bit chilly from those who would rather stay bundled up until it hits 80 (like, say, my mom).

there's a girl (british, i believe) sitting a few tables over (i'm in the lettres et langues cafeteria) eating an avocado. it looks realllllly good. sadly, she definitely didn't get it here.

i have the easter hymn "he is risen" (well, ok, that probably describes half a dozen easter hymns. more specifiically: "he is risen, he is risen, tell it out with joyful voice!") stuck in my head, about a week prematurely. what i do not have: a church that sings any sort of traditional hymns, let alone in english. what i do have: an easter dress! (hannah: the one i bought in ireland. i've been saving it.) what i also have: plans to make deviled eggs for easter church potluck, because they are such a church-potluck-ish thing and yet they hardly ever appear here. what i need to not forget: to buy eggs and normal mustard.

oh. the guys across from me are american too. geez. i'm beginning to doubt that french students even exist anymore. :P oh, and now the american guys are talking to the american/british girls. clearly, i'm getting a lot done here. but people-watching is more fun.

i'll stop rambling at you now, dear readers, and go get things done.
