Jan. 13th, 2009 02:29 pmso i've been having a kind of gloomy morning, but i get some exercise, shower, make a to-do list, decide to have lunch before i start in on it. as i'm sitting at the table, mentally plotting my reu application essay and becoming progressively more motivated, i hear this massive explosion that sounds like a bomb has gone off under the cabinet in the kitchen sink (that was actually my first thought, improbable though that would be) and the cabinet doors fly open. i'm sitting there thinking "wtf just happened?" when i hear the sound of gushing water. jumping up and running over to the sink, i discover - it's not there anymore. or rather, it's about a foot lower, balancing on the trashcans in the cabinet below. the pipe has come apart and the water in the dishes in the sink is spilling out into the cabinet. the sink literally just fell out of the countertop. my guess is, the very large pot from the spaghetti last night got progressively fuller of water as people rinsed out their breakfast dishes, and eventually just got too heavy. but honestly, since when can a sink not support the weight of a pot full of water. and of course i am alone at the house, and i don't want to interrupt brenda or bruno at work. so i got most of the mess cleaned up, and sent brenda a text in case she checks her phone between classes, but alkdfjalkdjfalskdfjalksj the sink fell out of the counter. i think this is a sign i should just give up on the day and go back to bed.
