hello darkness

i like it being light when i wake up in the morning but this whole getting dark at 5:30 thing could use some work...it makes me want to sleep instead of doing my homework. more than usual, i mean. yay, basketball starts tomorrow! and we get to play co-rec, which makes me for one happy. and i had comparatively little homework. i think today rates as a good day. even if it started out suckily. i want to go DO something, i am so bored...maybe i will start reading the age of innocence...edith wharton is so cool. the only author of "good literature" i actually like. i feel so inferior in my lit class, i haven't actually read much "good literature." and what i have read i think is boring. oh well...

Boring? what have yall been reading? emerson can be a slow read i know...eeeh, um, i am sleepy. i am reading Crime and Punishment and it is about a murderer so it isnt boring:)
as a random side note, i was a cat for halloween. yay!

yay, cats are cool! i was crowley. :D with sparkly horns. let's see, what have we been reading...moby dick for one thing, which i only actually read the first 200 pages of...shhh don't tell! i wrote a pretty good essay on it for not having read 2/3 of it. :P we read some poe but it was his boring/weird stories, like "the oblong box" and some weird one about a ship that didn't actually have a plot. and an essay by some romantic or other...it may have been emerson...i don't know.

yeppers, i can tell you are interested. actually, i liked moby dick alot, but you have to be into symbolism. it has an arcane power that rolls through every image, every sentence, but you have to sit down and read it all in a weekend, with nothing else to do, and care at the same time...and that is a hard combination:) yeah, poe is one of those queer fellows. you were crowley? remember the year i was azariphale? i think it was the first year you were there...
anyways, i am planning on helping out with operetta at some point this christmas. yay!

the symbolism is very cool, i wrote my essay on parallels between the biblical ishmael and rachel and the ones in moby dick and how their stories mesh, it was actually kinda fun. i remember when you were aziraphale! lillian brought that tie you wore to the halloween party, and i actually wore it for most of the time. :P yay i can't wait until operetta mini-session...the best time of the school year!
