the week in review
Jun. 26th, 2005 10:05 pmlast week: i got bored and depressed about being a lazy bum, so i read 4.5 books in about 18 hours. gave me a bad backache. also, we got a new washer and dryer, and in the process of trying to install my new sink and vanity discovered that there is mold behind all my bathroom wallpaper. hence the bathroom will be gutted. downside: the insurance man is coming something, therefore my hiking plans have been put on hold. upside: my mom may hire a decorator to paint my room and bathroom.
yesterday: we drove the five hours to sweetwater and back to see my great-great-uncle paul, who turned 96 last week. i don't think he looks or acts like it, he talked the whole time and is still perfectly lucid enough to give us a guided tour of sweetwater. it was fun, minus the car trip. oh well, i discovered how to connect my ipod to our car speakers with a minijack to audio input cable. my parents cracked up over "lonely" by akon.
today: went to the mission baptist church to help her decorate her classroom for vbs. ended up volunteering to help her teach. :P i'm not baptist and speak no spanish, so this should be interesting. gives me something to do though...i didn't feel too much like a lazy bum (after all, everyone else only has a job) until i talked to annie, my roommate from tip last summer, who's at harvard learning arabic for five weeks. !!! geez...i'm green with envy.
