(judging by further overheard snippets of conversation, i don't think this guy is particularly conservative himself, so i'm choosing to find it funny rather than sad)

Did you mention that you're working in the Caldwell library this summer, or did I imagine that?

well, i probably didn't specify which library -- i'm actually working on setting up the library at st. michael's (i'm teaching there this coming year), which is in utter disarray. it's...exciting :P

Oh okay, I knew I saw something about setting up/organizing a library....but that's cool, and that really does sound exciting! ...I love organizing things. And congrats on getting a job there! Are you going to teach math?

I went to do some observations there in a 6th grade classroom and I was shocked/impressed , they were using the same textbook for physics/chemistry that I used in 9th grade in a class that I barely passed. I guess since it's a college prep school and all that, but still.

And the Caldwell library looks a lot different, which is why I asked...I drove by it today and noticed they've added to it which I knew from the short Caldwell paper, and it's painted blue...I want to go in and check it out.

If that's the case, then I won't knock out Austin as a possible place to live in the future. :)
