sadie_cocopuffi realize i failed to mention in a timely fashion that i arrived home, but i did indeed do so. i feel like i've been inordinately busy ever since, though it's mostly been pleasant and of my own choosing.
got home last night from my cousin's high school graduation and celebratory brunch (how lovely to be back in a country where you can get a comfortable 5-person hotel room at all, much less for $90 a night), then visiting my grandmommy/aunt/cousins (my uncle was on call at the hospital, unfortunately). i love my family and i'm really happy to be home, but that was a lot of family time...planning on being mostly reclusive today.
tomorrow, starting a 6-week program called "jump therapy" with my family and a few other people at my old high school's brand-spanking-new gym. the idea is that they retrain you to jump in a way that minimizes risk of acl tears, especially useful for female athletes in contact sports. i'm just doing it as a way for someone else to force me to exercise (according to my mom, the mock session she did while writing an article about it was fairly torturous...oh boy).
now, off to my reclusive afternoon.
