blah blah blah blah LEONARD BERNSTEIN
May. 12th, 2009 07:58 pmtoday was stay-at-home paper-writing day. here's how it's gone so far:
up at 9. (start the house season finale loading.)
make real breakfast. (eggs, toast, oj, coffee, yum!)
eat breakfast while watching house. (meh. i love you, hugh laurie, but your show is becoming too predictable. surprise twists are supposed to be surprising.)
clean room in preparation for paper-writing.
take ridiculously long shower. (i think better when i'm clean.)
write outline while dangling feet in the pool and soaking up the sun.
lunch outside.
decide it's way too beautiful to be inside. oops, can't see my computer screen outside. oh well, guess i'll just have to sunbathe for a while.
finally start in on the writing. (2 p.m. ish)
want to know how many pages i've written between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.? roughly 3. (i only need 4 - i think it will actually go longer - but really. half a page an hour?) haven't actually been writing all that much. what i have gotten done during my "writing" time:
organized my school papers and other miscellaneous stuff on my bookshelf.
recycled a lot of unnecessary paper.
replied to a backlog of emails.
organized my medicine drawer.
sorted my books into "keep" and "resell" piles.
chatted with a few people i haven't talked to in a while.
found a translation for my english student this week.
practiced my low whistle. (which necessarily entailed listening to a lot of music.)
stretching, situps and pushups. (at this point i'm getting pretty desperate.)
i'm going crazy! why do i have such concentration problems? this is not a hard paper. it's outlined and everything. i know what examples go where. it just has to go down on paper. and yet, here i am updating lj because i would rather do anything than actually write it. sigh. back to work. (it would help if it weren't still sunny and beautiful outside.)
