today = moderately productive. i woke up in my usual "it's the weekend and i don't want to do anything" mood, and decided a nice cathartic throwing-things-away episode would be a good idea. :P my desk drawers and bookshelf are now navigable and my folders now contain relevant papers for this semester's classes, which should make life a lot easier. there are few things more satisfying than sorting things into piles and having the biggest one be "don't need this, going in the recycling bin." it's also nice to know that, even when i feel like my life is a mess, it only takes an hour or two of sorting to get it back under control. (conversely, i suppose that could be interpreted as "i have an incredibly low tolerance for my life not being neat and organized"...once it hits critical messiness i sort of shut down and don't have any drive to fix it.)

anyway, back to today...spurred on my my newly-motivated mood, i actually exercised, caught up on bible study (four days behind...oops), and worked some on my reu applications before giving up and going back to midnight's children. not amazingly productive, all things considered, but i have at least managed to get through the daylight hours of a saturday without curling up and watching house. :P no guarantee that won't be on the agenda for after dinner though...

I thought that was awesome.

Right now I am reading depressing history stuff.

It's quite interesting (and cool, I think), how satisfying a good cleaning/organizing can help when the mood is right. And then, things are clean too!
